Very fine condition, German: Jewish WW2 50 Pfennig banknote from the Ghetto in Lodz, Litzmannstadt.Circa.1940

currency used exclusively in the Łódź Ghetto (renamed Litzmannstadt by the Nazis) during World War II. The German authorities forced the Jewish population to exchange their currency for these "receipts" (Quittungen) that had no value outside the ghetto.
