WW1 Imperial German Cigarette Case depicting Paul Von Hindenburg
A scarce cigarette case with Field Marshal Paul Von Hindenburg embossed on the front. The case is intact with some small dents on the side which prevents the case from closing snugly. This was probably carried by a solder of the First War so some wear and tear is expected. Made of steel with a brown patina
Size closed: 7.4cm x 9.0cm x 1.5cm
Paul von Hindenburg (1847–1934) was a German field marshal and statesman who became a national hero during World War I and served as the second President of the Weimar Republic from 1925 until his death. His career was defined by his military service and his fateful decision to appoint Adolf Hitler as chancellor in 1933, which helped enable the Nazi seizure of power.
