The obverse (front) of the medal features a full-length, winged figure of Victory holding a palm branch. The reverse typically has the inscription "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION" and the dates of the war within a laurel wreath, though the French version for sell here reads "LA GRANDE GVERRE POUR LA CIVILISATION 1914-1918".
