The Bedfordshire Regiment was a line infantry regiment of the British Army with roots dating back to 1688. Originally raised as the 16th Regiment of Foot, it gained its definitive association with Bedfordshire in 1809. Following centuries of service, it was amalgamated in 1958 and its modern lineage is now carried by the Royal Anglian Regiment.
