SOE "Tyre Slasher" Folding Knife - British WW2

A nice original Special Operations Executive lock knife. In used condition with some slight surface rust spots. The checkered grip has a small amount of damage at one end by the hanger loop. All springs and workings are fine. The knife is "sterile" (unmarked) to avoid tracing their origins if lost or captured. Two blades the larger locks in place and is very sharp, the smaller used for slashing tyres.

The SOE lock knife was issued as a clandestine tool to agents of the Special Operations Executive, a secret British WWII organisation tasked by Winston Churchill to conduct espionage, sabotage, and reconnaissance in occupied territories. The knife was designed to be carried in a specific pocket of the SOE camouflaged jump suit and was intended for general use, including cutting parachute shrouds. Some variants also had an additional small, hooked blade at the pommel end specifically for slashing enemy vehicle tyres as a form of sabotage.
