Awarded for six months of service afloat in the Atlantic or Home Waters between September 3, 1939, and May 8, 1945. It was also awarded to eligible aircrew. France and Germany Clasp: This clasp (or "bar") was awarded to individuals who qualified for the France and Germany Star after already qualifying for the Atlantic Star. The clasp is worn on the Atlantic Star's ribbon, and the individual would not receive the France and Germany Star medal itself.
