The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire), originally formed in 1881 as the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, was a distinguished line infantry regiment of the British Army that served for nearly 90 years. 

Second Boer War: Participated in the Siege of Kimberley.

World War I: Served in various theaters including the Western Front, Gallipoli, East Africa, and Mesopotamia.

World War II: Fought at Dunkirk, in Tunisia, and the Battle of Anzio. The 2nd Battalion was captured during the Fall of Singapore.

Post-War: Served in the Malayan Emergency and in Aden.
