Made in Japan by VULCAN as marked on the bottom.

The lid does open and close but has seen use and is not that reliable. Possibly missing an emblem on the lid as well.

Cold War Era: In the 1950s, the squadron was reorganized as the 85th Bomb Squadron (Tactical) and flew the North American B-45 Tornado out of RAF Sculthorpe in England, which is where custom military pocket lighters of this exact design were produced and purchased by stationed airmen.
