WWI Model 1917 Bolo Knife by Plumb Philadelphia Dated 1918 with Canvas Scabbard

It features contoured hardwood grip panels secured by two screws, a heavy cross guard, and a distinctively weighted pommel to assist with heavy chopping motions. Blade has been sharpened for use. Marked US MOD 1917 C.T and on the other side PLUMB ST LOUIS 1918 all though this has been slightly obscured were blade has been sharpened. Scabbard stamped BRAUER BROS 1918.

Originally issued during World War I, this heavy-profile knife was designed for utility use. It was primarily given to medical personnel to clear brush for hospital tents, and to machine gun crews to clear lines of sight and construct gun emplacements.
